Its all your fault. As I was dutifully reviewing your updates to the Dimi website I noticed the article stating that the Sony DSC R1 was a good IR camera. While always wondering why anyone would want to make a picture with "funny" colors and tones I also noted that IR images are perceived as artsy. Well..., I couldn't resist. I bought an inexpensive IR filter from EBay for my R1 and here I am.
I'm still getting used to this manner of shooting and these are early attempts.
I parked to investigate a small flood control/stream area in Palo Alto, CA, USA. Next to the parking area was this idyllic front yard of an upscale home. The stream area images are good, but this one is my fav. The other two are down in the little gully across the street. It has the appearance of a bum's break area. The cairns were there begging to be shot so I did.
Exposures were at f11 between 1 and 2 seconds. The filter is an OEC IR 720.
I have a weakness for Sepia so when I print these, I use driver controls on my Epson 3800 to do them at a light sepia tone, but they look fine in straight BW.
