The thrill of infrared photography comes when see a result you could not predict when taking the image. It's impossible to know just how each plant or leaf will appear on the infrared image. I was quite happy with this result.

Shot a stilt worker in the middle of a field that I had gotten friendly with. A fairly
straight forward image shot on film, utilizing a red filter over a 24 mm lens. I had to compose and adjust on the fly as both he , I and the bowling pins were moving . An opaque filter doesn't help much in such situations. Some basic adjustments were naturally made in PS.

All there images were made with a modified digital IR camera and painted in photoshop. The images were taken by me at the Queen Lili'uokalani Park in Hilo, HI.
The images of the tree in her mind were like her life, off balance, out of sync. She seemed to be acting a part and in real life he felt she was the same way. He imagined that the general public thought they knew her, but he felt that he was the only one who really knew her, like he was the only one who saw the true colors of the tree. He had thought of her for so many years that he believed that he was inside of her head and that she could not hide from him. In his mind he followed her during the day letting her see just enough of him so that she would know she was being followed and watched. He wanted her to be suspicious, fearful. He often wore disguises, like the colors in the tree, so that he could work near her and she would not recognize him. But he wasn

Standing their in the open, she had wanted to see the sky, and feel strong like the Lion in the park. The stars were like tiny pricks of light against the deeper black and blue sky. There were billions of bright stars far far away. The stars stretched on forever unlike her life. In the clearing in the park where she stood she felt to small. She could smell the scents of the sea, the trees, the earth and the clean fresh air. The tall trees cast shadows around her like the people in her life. She felt like she was in a big clearing that was very dark and silent and yet rich with latent shadows and possibilities. She could feel life coming towards her and she wanted to go towards it too. She was uncertain of the road or the trail or if she would ever reach where she was going. There seemed to be dark shapes around her with unknown intent. She was scared but moved forward through her tears, hoping for the courage of the lion.

and obviously has a great head of hair which a wanted to emphasize. A number of adjustments to both the model and my point of of view required that I see through the viewfinder. Given that, I used a deep red as opposed to an opaque IR filter over a 24 mm lens. The image was toned in PS.

This picture is just as it came off the Olympus 2020 camera with the Hoya filter.
I found this shot of a horse in a field and even though it is wintertime (bare trees) here, we still have the Evergreen trees so I enjoy taking shots.
This is not a real horse and that was what was so amusing to see. The horse is actually a purple horse just standing there with his head over the fence as if it were a real horse. Obviously, the person has a sense of humor
I do have a Canon 20D but it is too much trouble to try and use for IR so I got the Olympus just for this purpose. Totally a novice but enjoying time spent with this camera
