Clapped Out Farm Machinery, Limestone Coast, South Australia
David Clayton - I took this photograph when on travels through the Limestone coast region in South Australia. Spotting the old windmill, I pulled over to seek a good photograph. It was drizzling lightly. Spotting the old car, I moved in to capture that water clogged landscape. I shot this image back in 2003 using an old Canon AE-1P, with a 200mm f2.8 lens, on Fuji Sensia transparency. It's only recently that I've had it professionally scanned. I've removed the dust, cropped, and tweaked the colour ever so slightly. Perhaps the hardest part was finding the complimentary colour for the faux matte. I felt it wasn't quite complete, so went in search of a good quote. Leonardo da Vinci came up with the goods; the imprinted quote of his is quite poignant and fitting for today.
